I have to say, things actually went much better than I was expecting. Initially I was a little upset at why I had to go in person in the first place, because it seems like there was an error online in the system where my ticket was never entered into the system until after my hearing date, which made it "default" and added $500 to the ticket. I called and tried to resolve it over the phone, thinking it should be simple enough, but they insisted that I had to come in person, and to the location all the way in the city, which is only open on weekdays during my own working hours (and most people's). They said though it shouldn't be an issue but I have to go in person and within 21 days of the default, file a continuance and the judge would see me that same day (walk-ins, appointments not necessary). I wasn't optimistic that it would be that simple or smooth, but in fact, it was even easier than how they made it seem and it happened very quick - all told only a half hour or so. And everyone was surprisingly very friendly, most notably the judge, of all people. compared to my mood and expectation going into it, where I had to annoyingly work around my work schedule, drive all the way into the city, and figured almost likely have to wait an hour or two and they might even tell me that they can't get to me today, oh and the fact that I had come a few days earlier all the way, paid for my parking, only to find out they weren't open because it was Columbus Day, I am good now, I have nothing to complain about. They took care of the ticket and I was on my way. My ticket was an administrative hearing one, not a regular parking ticket, so the experience might be different for you if that's the case
